Welcome to the Virtual Mouse Portal. This web site will allow you to access all cores concerning the use of mice and analysis of murine samples on the UCLA campus through one central portal. The rationale for creating a central web site is in response to a change in the scientific approach from investigating a single or limited set of defined analytes to a global analysis utilizing systems biology. Finally, this unified site will unite the existing resources on campus for the use and creation of genetically manipulated mouse strains.This web site will also provide a service to the research community by serving as source of expertise and advice for investigators. Questions on techniques, samples and research approaches posted on this web site will be channeled to an individual with appropriate expertise or core facility by an advisory board. This will facilitate identification of experts in other disciplines relevant to the study and foster collaborations needed to advance scientific knowledge.
